John Renaud attended the Syracuse University College of Visual and Performing Arts as an Illustration major, however, the artistic natural began to draw the moment he could hold a pencil in his hand. Drawing and illustration, although comes very easily to John, it is not his only love of artistic expression. John is also a musician and during his time at Syracuse he took advantaged of the opportunity to learn more about music and its competitive industry.

John graduated in 2001 and began to pursue his love of music in his home state of Vermont, after a couple of attempts to put together a band, John decided it was time to take things into his own hands. In 2002 he wrote, played and recorded his first CD, "Hero's Welcome." The CD earned him local radio airplay, placement in local music stores and membership to ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers). However, John knew that to truly pursue a career in music and continue to expose himself as an artist/illustrator, he would have to relocate.

In May of 2003 John moved to southern California where he continues to express himself both through art and music. “As a visual artist I am interested in a variety of mediums and styles. I don't feel like I have found anything definitely "me" yet… but time and experimentation will allow that to happen.”
