Can Feng Shui Remedies Help Sell a House?

By Kartar Diamond

This is a question that comes up on a regular basis. When a house is languishing on the market here in Southern California, the real estate agent or the home owner may begin to wonder if the services of a Feng Shui specialist can identify what it is about the house that may be turning away or turning off prospective buyers.

Realtors often encourage sellers to make cosmetic improvements before putting a house on the market. It's called "curb appeal." A fresh coat of paint, some landscaping, new carpet and lighting fixtures can make a house look more like it is in move-in condition.

Sellers are sometimes encouraged to remodel bathrooms and kitchens to also make a house more attractive for sale.

But Feng Shui goes way beyond what you can see with your eyes. From my perspective, the ease or difficulty in selling a house can sometimes be directly related to the non-obvious 'money luck' of the current occupants. In other words, if you live in a house that is considered bad for money potential, trying to sell it easily may just be one more manifestation of the house's bad influence or final sabotage on the current occupants.

What does a house that is bad for money look like? This might be like asking what does a woman who is 36 hours pregnant looks like. It is not at all obvious; rather, it is based on when the house was built combined with its compass orientation. Once a competent Feng Shui practitioner has identified a house that can be undermining for money luck, then remedies can be put in place for the sellers to improve their personal financial potential, assuming they are still living in the house. This has worked for my clients. They get the energy balanced in the house for themselves and then it translates in a quicker sale.

If the sellers are no longer living in the house up for sale, their delay in selling it can be attributed to the house they are in fact dwelling in. You see, you cannot be affected by a property you are not living in, at least not directly. If you own rental property that has terrible energy for money luck, your tenants may struggle to pay the rent, which of course would affect you too. But if the rental house indicates some potential health problem, the owner of the property would not succumb to that health problem if they are not living in it.
