Greg Anka is a self-taught artist, however his study of painters such as Rothko, Twombly, Miro, and Picasso has greatly inspired him and his work.

Greg was born in New Jersey and at the age of 20 he began a professional career in art. The beginnings were difficult but with dedication Greg persevered and received a considerable amount of accolades.

"I have spent the past ten years redefining my approach and honing my artistic voice as well as simplifying my aesthetic philosophy and outlook. As my work progresses, my art takes on different hues and subtleties but always has that distinguishable nuance that is me."

Currently Greg resides in Los Angeles, California and continues to show his work in Los Angeles as well as New York City.

"I can never hope to achieve the immeasurable beauty that took millions of years to perfect. I would rather fuse that beauty into my psyche then translate that moment into art than merely try to copy it."

Greg has recently begun a series of painting dealing with and resulting from the constant packaging and repackaging of all that is valuable in the world and where he feels this common thread is leading us.
