The energy system known as “the charkas” comes from the esoteric writing of the East, which used the language of Sanskrit. The Sanskrit word chakrum means wheel. Properly spoken, chakrum is singular and chakras is plural, but in the west the singular form is chakra and the plural is chakras. “The chakras” refers to the seven energy centers of which our consciousness, (our energy system) is composed.

The aura is an energy field that is surrounds every human. The aura spans 4 to 6 inches from the body and is seen as a particular color. The basic color of the aura of a person usually stays consistent, however aspects of the aura can change or vary in color according to the persons mood or state of health. Most of the color and energy of the aura is supplied by the chakras.

Each chakra is also associated with a particular color and produces that color in its energy field. The color of a chakra is denser than that of the aura, but even in its healthy state it remains transparent.

The chakras, function as valves or faucets, which regulate the flow of energy through our energy system. The chakras are not physical, but are aspects of our consciousness along with the aura.

Each chakra is associated with a part of the body. When tension builds up in our consciousness, we feel it in our charkas. The tension blocks the energy flow through the chakras and through the body. It is believed that eventually this blockage can manifest into a symptom on a physical level. For example, someone who is afraid to walk away from a particular situation or relationship in their life that causes extreme tension, may also, begin to experience a physical pain, perhaps in their leg. Being in tune with your chakras helps you to be in tune with your body as a whole.

Keeping the energy flow healthy through your consciousness can improve all of aspects of your living, from relationships to career.
