          Stressful situation arise almost daily. Since stress is not what is happening, but our outlook on what is happening, much of our stress can be eliminated through the power of the mind. This is why experts recommend that you think positive thoughts and spend 30 minutes a day doing something you like. When a negative situation presents itself, counteract by creating a positive one.

          Take the time to listen to the music. From the time of conception till birth you are soothed by the rhythm your mother’s heartbeat and it is believed that the beat or rhythm in music has the power to relax you throughout life. There is a great deal of stress relieving music out there, but it is important to listen to what you like, whether or not it is labeled stress reducing. A song that you are in tune with is sure sooth your soul.

          Exercising is always good therapy for stress. A healthy body fosters a healthy mind. This does not mean that you have to sign up for a membership at the gym, simply taking a walk, swimming, riding a bike or going for a run can clear the mind and promote physical and mental strength. Yoga and meditation also promote inner calmness, healing and strengthening of the mind and body.

          Environment can play a key role in how we feel about the world around us. So, whenever it is possible, you should take a walk in the woods, along the beach or a lake, climb a mountain, spend time in a garden or play with your dog in an open field.

          Soak your worries away with a long bath. You can try some soothing bubbles or Aromatherapy bath beads. Aromatherapy is the use of natural herbs to create Essential oils. This remedy has been used for thousands of years, dating back to the ancient Egyptians, to relax and rejuvenate mind and body. Light some candles and play some soft music and soak up the serenity.

          Treat yourself to a massage. Massage therapy has proven to lower blood pressure and reduce heart rate. It has also been proven to aid the immune system by increasing the body’s natural cell count. Stress often causes a break down of natural cells. Aside from this, a massage will relieve tension and leave you feeling refreshed.

          Face the day with a fresh outlook. Sometimes, simply getting a new haircut, facial or manicure can give you an entirely different perspective. Changing the way you feel about yourself will alter the way you feel about everything else and give you a positive attitude about otherwise stressful situations.

          With all of these stress busters, you are sure to find at least one that will work for you. So, why not give them a try? You have nothing but negative energy to lose and a lifetime of tranquility to gain.
