I have stared through this blurred window
Looking out on life
For so many long, lonely days and nights
Waiting for my time
People looked in through it
Without knowing what they saw
Thinking that our lives were the same
Because of the clothes we wore

Because we lived in the same houses
Our lives must be alike
But windows blur true images
And shield them from the light
So looking from the outside
You can never see the same
As the person looking out
From behind the window frame
